Club Info

The Harrison High School Fencing Club is a club sport, fielding men’s and women’s squads in foil, epee and sabre. Our season runs from October through March. There are no tryouts–we encourage anyone interested to try us out by visiting us at one of our practice sessions. Prospective fencers who have completed the required forms are welcome and encouraged to attend. Please wear sneakers (no open-toe shoes, sandals or flip-flops) and sweatpants or track pants.

TERMS OF MEMBERSHIP – All students who receive parental permission and pay the club membership fee will be admitted.

  • Club Fee: Everyone who wants to practice and compete with the team during the fencing season must pay a $10 fee. Club fees are used to purchase and maintain equipment for practice and competition and to cover fees for meets and team tournaments.
  • Registration Form: All fencers must turn in a completed and signed registration packet. Fencers are strongly encouraged to attend the Parent Information Meeting with a parent or guardian.
  • Personal Equipment: Fencers are required to purchase their own jackets, pants and protective equipment. These items must be regulation fencing equipment according to tournament rules. See our section on Equipment for more details.
  • Tournament Fees: Each fencer is responsible for paying their own entry fees for invitationals, opens, and championship tournaments. These are typically $20 to $25 per event due at check-in the morning of the competition.

Please note: Because we are a club and not part of the school corporation’s athletic department, we receive no financial support from the school. The Team is operated by the Tria Gladius Fencing Foundation, Inc., an Indiana non-profit organization, so all fees and donations are used exclusively to support the team.
